Charles Macon Landen, Sr., 79, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carol B. Landen, daughter, Irene Landen Stager (Mark); son, Charles M. Landen, Jr. (Pam); daughter-in-law, Diane E. Landen; granddaughters, Amanda J. McManama (Christopher), and Kelly M. Landen; grandsons, Brent C. Landen, Steven K. Landen, and Craig S. Landen; great-granddaughter, Kenley G. McManama; great-grandsons, Christopher M. McManama and Landen R. McManama; brothers-in-law, Ralph B. Blowe, Jr., John R. King; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maggie M. Neathery, who helped raise him; parents, Ralph C. Landen, Margaret N. Landen and his son, Kenneth B. Landen. In addition to being a loving husband, father and papa, Charles was a well-known builder/developer/entrepreneur in Central Virginia for 40 years. He was a founding partner of Landmark Builders, The Box Mini Storage, Flag Stop Carwash and the Whistle Stop shops on Chester Rd. Charles was the Founder and President of Lanco Homes which became the Family business when his wife, Carol and son, Ken joined him. Charles had a special visionary gift of seeing potential in properties and people that others could not see. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt.10). His funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Branch's Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Branch's Baptist Church 3400 Broad Rock Blvd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234 or to The Alzheimer's Association 4600 Cox Rd. Suite 130, Glen Allen, VA, 23060.
