Dance, Mr. Wilton Alexander, 84, of Chesterfield, Va., beloved husband, father and grandfather, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2018. He was surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and William Dance; and sister, Jean “Sally” Norris. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Anderson Dance; daughters, Lynda Dance Heithaus (Gregory) and Deborah Dance Royall (Jesse); grandchildren, Rebecca, Jay, Kimberley, Mark, Brandon, Pamela, Matthew and Amy; and eight great-grandchildren. Wilton worked at DuPont and ICI Americas prior to his retirement. Although he loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting, especially coon hunting, most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a man who lived the philosophy that a husband and father’s primary responsibility was to take care of his family and he always put them first. He loved being surrounded by his family, especially his numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, as well as the close bond he formed and maintained with friends and co-workers. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). A celebration of Christian funeral services will be at the funeral home the following day at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
